Today I’m sharing part 2 of my IKEA kids table makeover. A little DIY project for kids…I’m so pleased with the results and my kids (and their friends) are LOVING the finished product. I originally planned to make this a white board table, but when plan A failed…. a chalkboard table was born. Such an easy DIY project. The color combination is great and since it was my first chalkboard paint experience, I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was.
I didn’t really take pictures of the process, but if I were to write a tutorial it would go something like this.
Step 1: Paint table green according to the paint directions. Keep green paint off the table top..
Step 2: Paint the table top with the chalkboard paint according to the directions.
Ha! So simple, right???
So before… the table looked like this:
Unfinished wood… with lots of use… looks really dirty! The top of the table was also a mess, we had taped photos and games to the top and I let the kids eat snacks there as well. It was in need of a good coat of paint, but I also wanted to add an interactive feature as well. (I have more plans for this table as well!)
So I did the drawings for the photos…. and my son was patiently waiting while I took the photos. We erased the table and I let my son have a go!
Did you see the chair makeover that I post last week?I’ve when I get the chance to DIY something for my kids.
Looking forward to seeing you around the blog…. don’t be a stranger!
