Day 2: Growing up, my mom always had advent activities for us. The anticipation and joy of counting down the days until Christmas is a fond memory for me. Being one of four children, we took turns opening the doors, or doing the activity for that day. There are so many different ways to do this, I thought I would share a few.
First, a few years ago, I made an advent calendar for my husband as a gift. He had been talking about one his mom had made and how it was a tree, and each day an ornament was added. I was able to find tons of inspiration online and here is the finished product.
Other great advent ideas can be found HERE at Delicious Ambiguity.
This great idea was featured on Chica and Jo, I love how each day there in a Christmas activity tucked inside the bulb.
Another great roundup can be found at the Crafty Crow with this particular idea coming from Full Circle.
My son currently has this Little People Advent that was a gift from our dear friend Ann. I don’t make him wait day by day, he does the whole thing everyday, on and off :o)
I really love the idea of a Nativity Advent Calendar and someday I hope to make one for my family. This one from Sahm3’s flickr page is definitely inspiration!
She got her inspiration from Barefoot in the Kitchen
