I adore Chai Tea Lattes! Iced or warm Chai Tea is one of my favorite drinks. I’ve tried several drink mixes and none of them are as good as Chai Tea from a coffee shop. When I tried this recipe I new I had an winner to replicate my favorite Iced Chai Tea Latte flavor.
Iced Chai Tea Latte – Summer drink
A friend made me this iced chai tea latte recipe when I was at her house one day and I knew I had to make the recipe. She was shown this method by a women from India who loved authentic chai. And while I’m not sure how authentic this version is, it’s soooo yummy to drink and you’ll have to give it a try.
Hot afternoons require a tea break for sure! Grab a snack, a friend, a pitcher of chai tea latte and take a moment to refresh and relax. This tea is full flavor and easy to make. You can make it with chai tea bags from any store. The recipe gived directions for both a version where you break open the tea bags to brew the tea, or you can leave in the bags if you don’t want to strain. I think the flavor is just a bit better when you open the bags to brew the leaves. Chai Tea bags, milk and a bit of sugar when simmered together make the most amazing full flavor tea.
Iced Chai Tea Latte Recipe – summer drinks
Ingredients
- 6 cups skim/lowfat milk
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 5 tea bags of chai tea {any brand}
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan pour the milk and sugar. Break open the tea bags and put the tea leaves directly into the milk and sugar mix. Bring to a low boil and then simmer for 10 min. Strain out the leaves. Cool a bit, serve hot or over ice. {you can also leave the tea bags intact and put 4 bags in the milk. I think the flavor is a bit more rich when you boil the tea leaves directly, but both will work}
- Makes 6 servings

I would have to agree that nothing compares to a good Chai Tea which I normally enjoy from the coffee shop.
After reading this post, I can’t help get excited to try making one. It looks so easy. Thank you for sharing.
