There are SO many fun Back to School Photos ideas around… I’ve seen some really great ones.. My version is simple and fun! I’ve made it so I can change out the grade each year and still use the same frame. We took this photo today… right before my little one headed off to school!
Back to School Photos – a simple idea
Here’s how you can make one too! In the close up here you can see the frame and the grade labels. Here in Hong Kong there are two years of Pre-School called R1 and R2 {the R stands for reception}. My son is in the equivalent of 4K…
I created the basic frame last year from the side of a box for our back to school photos. I used scrapbook paper to cover the frame. The 1st Day of School letters are also cut out from a coordinating scrapbook paper and outlined with marker.
In the center of the top I used a piece of adhesive velcro. The other side of the velrco I put on the back of the grade number. I’ve saving them all for the next one coming down the line. {number 2 will be in R1 next year!}
I think this is my favorite back to school photo of this year!
We also got some not-so-great ones…

(And we ALWAYS have a tonne of outtakes for every photo shoot. I get about 10% awesome and 90% meh!)

Adorable. We just celebrated the first day of school today and it was so much fun documenting the big day for my boys. The frame is such a fun idea!

Also interested that Hong Kong has the same school year as the US, here (Australia) our school year starts in Jan and ends in December, but then that’s our Summer 🙂
