Today my son turns 6! {where did those years go?} My twin nieces also have a birthday today and they are turning 2. We saw them this summer and they were really into dolls, so I sewed up two Ruby Lou dolls for them. I’ve had this pattern for a couple of years, but never made one. I should not have waited so long, I LOVE this pattern and the way the dolls turned out.
Seriously, how cut is this hair and face? I was pretty skeptical about how the face would look… but it was easy! And they look SO cute! I added ribbons to their hair to complete the look.
The Ruby Lou Dolls are actually pretty tall. They have nice long legs, with adorable little shoes sewn on the bottom. The skirt that comes with the pattern is reversible, so you have to options.
I think these two are already friends.
I hope they will be well loved and played with by two little girls who are special to us! Happy Birthday to my nieces!

Gorgeous Emily, is the pattern pretty basic, I’d like to make one for my little girl. Happy birthday to the twins and your boy, the years go too quickly, I look at my 16 year old who now stands over 6 foot and wonder where my baby went.
Emily says
yes! You could totally make this. I think the hardest party was the embroidery on the face..
