I’m once again thrilled to be showing off a pattern by Jennuine Design. This new pattern, The Verona Dress, is so sweet. Being a pattern rep for the Jennunie Design shop is shaping up to be a fun! You can buy this pattern or any other by Jenn HERE.
We are expecting to bring our new adopted daughter home within the next several weeks. We don’t have actual travel approval yet, which is why the timing is unclear, but we know it’s close! With my new baby girl in mind, I made this dress in what I think will be her size. My sweet friend Annabelle is the actual model in this post, but can’t wait for my little Rose to wear it too… and be best friends with Annabelle! {yeah!}
The shoot started off a bit rough… But she was able to pull it together, be distracted and play around in the dress while I snapped a few photos.
The back of the dress has a button closure, which makes the actual sewing quite quick. The front neckline is the showpiece of this dress and I’m sad that I don’t have a close up of it.
The double skirt is just adorable and I think the puff sleeves are sweet too. There are about a million sleeve options for this dress {okay, maybe like five} and they all look great. I was tempted to do sleeveless, but I’m really glad I went with this little beauties.
The hippo fabric is from IKEA, several years ago, and the white is extra from some boys’ dress shirts I made up. If this dress were actually for Annabelle I should have made the skirt a bit longer.. but since it’s for my daughter, and she is 6 months younger, I think it will be perfect.
It seems like the perfect dress for play, or a dress up occasion. I have more of this red hippo fabric and I’m excited to sew more with it.. so sweet!
