I’ve got an easy DIY for you today, and I’m LOVE how this turned out. As you may have noticed my daughter wears hearing aids on a headband {she can have implants at a older age}, so this is a way to spruce up her headband and make it cuter. This felt flower hair clip diy is also perfect for decorating any plain headband and making one headband wearable many different ways. SO, gather some felt, hot glue and hair clips and let’s get started.
I made two flowers.. one with pointy petals and one with rounded ones. The technique is basically the same, just cut the felt differently.
Cut your felt. Start with on circle about 1″ diameter, then petals. My large ones are about 1.5″ inches, and then I made tow sizes smaller than that. I made three layers, so I needed three different size petals. You need 4 or 5 petals per layer. If you want leaves, cut those the size of the large petals or even a bit bigger.
For the first layer I put the biggest petals and the leaves. Glue to the 1″ circle. I used hot glue to attach. Graft glue would work too, just would take longer to dry. Add layer number 2.
Add the third layer, then add a tiny circle of the same color {or different if you like} to finish off the flower. Use a blow dryer to melt off any glue gun strings that are on the flower. Put some glue on the back of the original circle and attach the hair clip. Here’s one photo of the rounded petal version in the making. Both were made the same way.
There you go! Can’t get much easier than this Felt Flower Hair Clip DIY. Now you can turn any ordinary headband into one that matches every outfit. You can clip to a headband or right to the hair itself, both work great. I absolutely love how it looks!
Works on both sides of the headband and cute for everyday wear.

Cute! What a simple and effective little project – might need to use a few felt flowers instead of crochet ones in the future! xx
