I’m kicking off the Sew Many Books series with one of my families favorites…
One of our favorite books is Butterfly, Butterfly by Petr Horecek
I had so much fun creating the fabric for the skirt. I used lids and bowls to trace and cut the circles and then sewed and sewed and sewed until I had enough dots.
The back of the waistband ties in a bow…
I created my own bias tape for the armholes. The red top is cut from an old t-shirt of mine, and I was also able to re-use the neckband. I use a kids tank to create the pattern shape for the top.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my version of the book. Check back again on Thursday for the next installment!

What a sweet little dress, Emily, with the large dots on the red polka dot. The band between the t-shirt ties it all together beautifully and I love the little underskirt. This book is new to me… I’ll have to see if I can find a copy.
