I’ve seen these many places on the Internet and finally decided to try them… TO DIE FOR!!! So delicious and moist. My kids loved them, the friend I had over loved them, and I LOVED them…. Great as leftovers too. I just can’t say enough.
Look at how flaky and easily they come apart…
Clover Dinner Rolls
1 Cup plus 2 TBS milk (warm)
2 1/4 tsp Dry yeast
1 large egg
4 cups bread flour (3 cups whole wheat, 1 cup white) or (all white flour)
3 TBS sugar
1 1/4 tsp salt
6 TBS softened butter
melted butter for greasing pans and rolling dough balls
Combine the milk and yeast, stir and sit for 5 min. Whisk the egg into the mix.
In another bowl combine the flour, sugar and salt. Slowly add milk mix (if you have a mixer can use for these steps) Add the 6TBS butter and knead by hand or machine for around 5 min.
Butter a large bowl, roll the dough in to coat and let sit in a warm place for around 1 hr. Cover with a towel.
Butter a muffin tin. Form dough into small balls (1 inch) coat each in butter and place three in each muffin tin hole. Cover and let rise for 45 min.
Bake in pre-heated oven at 350 for 15-20 min. or unto golden brown on top. Cool slightly and serve warm. They take a bit of work and patience, but are totally worth it!
