inside: get all the details for this fall table runner made with twine. Easy sewing tutorial for fall.
I really enjoy the photography side of blogging. It’s been a fun challenge for me to work on improving my photos and editing technique… So far there are two items that have been SO HARD for me photograph… Garlands… angles, depth, big picture… so hard!! AND the subject of today’s post… Table Runners… bleeeeck!! I find this a very trying item to photograph… so if you have any tips on these longer items, let me know, otherwise this may be the last runner you see on Life Sew Savory {ha!}
Fall table runner tutorial
This fall table runner is super easy to make and looks great on our table. I’m not sure these photos do it justice, but they will have to do.
To make your own twine table runner you will only need two things! A solid table runner {mine came from IKEA} and a roll of twine.
Start on one end by folding over the twine to secure the end to the bottom.
Sew down the runner with a zig-zag stitch. I didn’t measure between the lines… I like the random spacing.

When you come to the end cut the twine and fold under the runner. Catch the end under the runner when you sew to the end.
Continue sewing the twine to the runner in the desired pattern. I made stripes, you could create any sort of pattern. I think that you could also use glue to attach the twine if you don’t sew!
I’ve also made two other Fall Table Runners…
This fall runner has a tutorial that’s free and easy!
I bought the pattern for this runner from Craftsy… You can buy great patterns and take amazing classes!
