I love Peek-A-Boo patterns… I’ve sewn many, many pdf patterns and these sewing patterns are so easy and just plain wearable. I also love that they seem similar to RTW {ready to wear} clothing… so they always fit great! I sewed my boys some fleece jackets for this winter with the Happy Camper Reversible Jacket.
We took family photos last Saturday, and I snapped a few photos with the coats afterwards. I do love these two SO much! I used a fun fleece that was two sided… so the light blue and the dark blue is actually from the SAME FABRIC! The jacket pattern is also reversible, so you can wear with either side out… I like the fleece on the outside, so I don’t know if we will wear them reversed, but the inside is completely finished. I used a blue lining fabric that I got at Joanne Fabric. I’m not sure exactly what it was, but it was in the lining section and it’s not stretchy.
Jack is always wearing a home sewn shirt… You can read about the post here… I made up a whole Hunger Games inspired outfit… You can get the pattern here.
The only change I made to the pattern was to move the zip pockets from two on the sides… to just one zip pocket at the top left. I put in two side seam pockets as well. {this is a pattern option}
The breast pocket is actually pretty deep, so my boys are excited about all the things they can carry in it! The sleeves are elastic, which is great to keep arms warm when it’s chilly or when playing in the snow.
I love how high the collar comes up! It also looks great unzipped and open too. I’ve never done a zipper cover, but it works great and really is good to keep from zipping tender chins.
And one more photo of these two crazies just for fun! This fleece jacket sewing pattern is one I would for sure make again.
Who else gets pictures like this when you say stand normal and smile? {ha!} these boys! Oh and I made Max’s pants too. You can find the post here and pattern here. Sewing for these boys is so much fun… they wear most of what I make too.
