inside: learn how to make your own DIY Christmas towels with sublimation. It’s easy to make any style kitchen towels with your sublimation printer. These Christmas towels are beautiful and simple to make.
I’m currently very inspired by my new Brother Sublimation Printer and today I’m going to show you how simple it is to make DIY Christmas towels with sublimation. Of course you can make these for any holiday {and I plan to make more!} but today we are talking about Christmas towels. They turned out so cute and literally took minutes to make. If you have a sublimation printer, this is a perfect craft to try this holiday season.
DIY Christmas Towels
For this project I used white towels but you can purchase towels in any color for sublimation. I’ve made several clothing items that were colored and the ink still shows up great. I’ll share the link to these towels I used below in the supplies.
I just choose two free designs from the Artspira app to use {both of these are on the free version of Artspira} I made two towels of each, although I will be making more soon.
I LOVE my new kitchen towels and already have some hanging on my stove.
I am also thinking these DIY Christmas towels would be perfect for gifting holiday baked goods or breads. Tie a ribbon on this and it’s ready to go!

Sublimation towel tutorial
Let’s get making! Here are the supplies you need to make sublimation hand towels for your kitchen.
- Sublimation printer – I used the Brother SP-1
- Design files to print – mine were free on the Artspira app
- Kitchen towels {I found these on Amazon and they come in many colors}
- Find a towel that’s not 100% cotton for best results
This will be a quick and easy tutorial.. because the process is actually really quick and easy.
If you have the Brother printer, use the Artspira App to create and send a design you your machine. If you are using another machine, transfer a design to the printer however you normally do. I put two designs on one sheet of paper and cut it apart after printing.
**NOTE – the Artspira app automatically reverses the image when transferring/printing, but if you are using another transfer method, make sure to mirror the image **
Be careful not to touch the printed ink part of the paper and place it face down on the towel. Use the app directed heat settings to transfer the ink. This project was 390 degrees for 45 seconds.
Here’s my cute little before and after! So fun!! Now I can’t wait to make for for every season and holiday.
