Right now through Oct 31st {while supplies last} you can get coupon booklets for a free Frosty at Wendy’s. This deal brings together two things I’m passionate about… free stuff and adoption!! I’m so excited to share about this great offer at Wendy’s as it’s something I really believe in and care about!
Visit your local Wendy’s® to purchase a Jr. Frosty™ Halloween Coupon Book* for $1, which benefits the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®!
*Coupon book may contain coupons for 5 or 10 free Jr. Frosty™ treats. Prices and participation may vary. Ninety cents to every $1 coupon booklet sold between 9/15/14 and 10/31/14 will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®. Coupons valid from 11/1/14 through 2/1/15. ©2014 Oldemark LLC
AND… I’ve created a little felt holder to give out these coupons. You can give one page of the booklet which is 2 coupons, or the whole booklet. These would be perfect to hand out to trick or treaters, class parties, or whatever you fall/Halloween event may be. Your friends and their kids can use the coupons to get free Frosty’s at Wendy’s… so fun and a great way to spread out the treats, since you can use the coupons for the next several months.
I bought the spider web felt cut outs at IKEA and made the pumpkin ones myself. This works with either option. Sew around the outside of the felt shape, leaving an opening at the top big enough to slip the Frosty coupon or booklet in the top.
That covers the free stuff, now onto my adoption passion. If you’ve read this blog for any length of time you know that our family is in the process of adopting a baby girl from China… it’s been a long roller coaster journey… but we think the end is in sight! We are hoping to be bring home our daughter sometime next spring… oh wow!!
My husband and I have been wanting to adopt since we were first married. We attempted a local adoption first before even trying to get pregnant, but for various reasons that adoption didn’t work out. After our two sons were born we began working towards a China adoption. The road has been long and filled with bumps, but with the end in site we see that everything has been coming together the way it should… YEAH! The Wendy’s foundation is focused on waiting kids currently in foster care…We also are foster parents and have had two foster babies in the past two years…
Any foundation that works to connect kids and families makes my heart so happy!!
Here are some of the amazing details of the Wendy’s foundation…
- In 1990, Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy’s®, accepted President George H.W. Bush’s invitation to be the spokesperson for a national adoption awareness campaign. Just two years later, Dave established The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption® as a non-profit public charity with one primary goal: to help every child in foster care find a loving, permanent family.
- For 22 years, Wendy’s® has supported foster care adoption.
- The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption® believes that we have a responsibility to be the voice of foster care adoption, so that every child finds a family. As founder Dave Thomas said, “These children are not someone else’s responsibility. They are our responsibility.” The DTFA exist to find homes for children who are waiting to be adopted from foster care in North America.
- Thanks to Wendy’s® consumers and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®, 4,000+ children have found adoptive families.
- Did you know that there are more than 100,000 children in foster care awaiting adoption?
- Purchase a Wendy’s® Halloween Coupon Book for $1 at participating Wendy’s to support foster care adoption.
- Ninety cents of every $1 Halloween Coupon Book sold between September 13 – October 31, 2014 will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®. Coupons are valid for use: November 1, 2014 through February 1, 2015.
- This year, Wendy’s® aims to give $10 million to The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption®.

I love that they are selling this books and that so much money goes to such a good cause. I picked some up for my niece and nephew whose parents are currently in the process of becoming foster parents.

Love this idea and good luck with your adoption! Two of my nieces are adopted and friends of ours adopted one of the little girls that they fostered. This is a wonderful cause.
