inside: Make a tasty Greek layer dip for a fresh, colorful side dish that goes well with any summer meal.
We love Greek / Mediterranean flavors… As you can see when you see my list of similar recipes below. This layer Greek dip is just perfect for summer with garden veggies and the fresh bold meals we are eating this season. I wrote this post many years ago and just recently updated it with some new photos and a few more recipe details.
Greek Layer Dip Recipe-
One of the great things about this dip is that you do not have to use all the same ingredients I did to make a tasty dish. This is so tasty even if you leave something out or substitute one of the ingredients.
Here are some of my other tasty Greek flavor recipes
I will give you the list of what I put in my Greek dip recipe and you can then edit it for your tastes.
Here is what is in my layer dip : Hummus, feta, olives (I left one corner without for my husband who doesn’t like them) Chopped veg ( yellow pepper, onion, cucumber, tomatoes and artichokes) and then we eat it with pita chips or veggie chips and it is amazing!
The first time I make it, I found it slightly bland, so I would recommend adding some more spice or a flavored hummus. If you are someone who likes a lot of flavor this is a good option for mixing up the taste.
Greek Layer Dip
A tasty Greek dip recipe with layers that blend for a delicious side dish.
Ingredients
- 8 x 8 glass dish {or similar}
- 1 cup hummus
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup crumbled feta
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/2 cup chopped cucumber
- 1/2 cup chopped red pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped artichoke hearts
- 1/2 cup black kalamata olives
- 1/2 cup chopped cherry tomatoes
Instructions
- Spread hummus on bottom of the dish.
- Layer all ingredients in any order you want.
- Keep the ingredients you want to be able to see them. I keep the olives near the top so that we can see that part that doesn't have them {for my husband}
- There really is no wrong way to assemble this dip.

Thanks for hosting. π About that fabulous-looking recipe, to spice it up I would add a hefty sprinkle of cayenne – and maybe fresh basil. I can’t wait to try this. I love all the ingredients, including the olives. π
