Homemade Coffee Creamer with vanilla

I’m trying to start making homemade coffee creamer in an attempt to start the New Year on a healthier foot.. I’m not going to give up coffee, but I can try to eliminate some of those extra ingredients in my bottled coffee creamer. Here’s a little homemade coffee creamer recipe with vanilla that’s working for me these days!

Homemade Coffee Creamer with Vanilla-

This is so simple I can hardly call it a recipe.. just three ingredients and a few minutes of your time. Plus you can make up a batch that will last you all week. I’ve been buying sweet cream creamer, so I knew I wanted more than just regular creamer if I was making my own. I decided to try a sweet cream with vanilla. {and yes, I have a very tiny one-cup coffee maker… I’m the only drinker in my house and I usually just have one cup in the morning}

I started drinking coffee when my first son was a baby, {what is it about having kids??} and started with froo froo Starbucks drinks, but now just enjoy one cup in the morning with a couple of tablespoons of sweet cream. My attempt to make some homemade sweet creamer was a success!

You will need 1 cup of half and half {or heavy cream}, 1 TBS vanilla, simple syrup to taste {I boiled down 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water}. Make the simple syrup by boiling down equal sugar and water for 10 min at low boil. Add the vanilla and syrup to the cream and mix well.

Brew your coffee as desired {I like mine pretty weak} then add a TBS or two of this yummy vanilla creamer. What do you love in your morning coffee? Prefer tea? That’s my afternoon drink of choice! Looking forward to having this easy coffee creamer in my fridge for my morning cup though and a simple way to simplify.
