I have two boys, born two years apart. This is the perfect recipe for joint birthday parties; and I have taken full advantage of this in the past. Similar interests, many of the same family friends, and lots of fun party ideas. They threw MANY ideas around for this years’ party until they said LEGO… I immediately was on board with this one and locked them in. The actual party will be in two weeks, but today I’m sharing all my plans for a Lego birthday party.
Plan a Lego Birthday Party –
I’ve got loads of ideas for LEGO birthday party decorations, games, food, party favors and a Lego play station.
Lego Birthday party invitation
The first thing any party needs is an invitation! Here is the one we sent out:
You can print a blank version with this link INVITATIONBLANK
Let’s dive right into the party planning. Awesome Lego decorations? {Everything is Awesome!!!}
Lego Party Decorations –
Lego Decorations I made included:
LEGO text banner above {download the free font here}, fork holder with LEGOS, punch bowl with LEGO container {print the punch label here}
Brick banner as shown below: I used craft foam cut into rectangles, cut circles and glued on the circles to create LEGO bricks. Staple to a ribbon and hang!
Lego Birthday Party Games –
Now let’s talk party games!!! My boys new favorite activity is playing with their awesome LEGO sets. They are not “baby LEGOS” as my boys would say, but the sets are designed to give children age 4-7 a great first experience with LEGO bricks through iconic, fun and easy to build models. LEGO JUNIORS sets contain quick start elements and numbered pre-packed bags that can be built without help from Mom or Dad – which makes any small builder extra proud. My 5 {almost 6 year old} was able to build the castle set with very little help and he was SO excited. So for our party, we are making a LEGO station where all the kids can play with and enjoy these fun sets.
Jack could not wait to get home from school to put the set together on the day it arrived. He loved how easy it was to follow the directions and numbers on the bags made it super easy for him. It kept him entertained for hours, so mom was happy to {ha!}. The sets also come with LOTS of extra bricks and directions for building and rebuilding the brick in a few different ways. The kids are the party are going to have a blast with these.
Other games we plan to play:
Build a tall tower, copy the shape, and pin the head on the LEGO figure, {you can find the blank LEGO man outline here for the game. Scale to the size you need and use as desired.}
Lego Birthday Party Food –
The punch bowl I mentioned above, mini individual pizzas, LEGO brick cake, plates, cups, fork holder made from LEGOS.
Make small pizzas by cutting your crust after you rolled it out. Top with pepperoni or cheese circles to make them look like LEGOS.
The cake is just a sheet cake with marshmallows cut in half then frosted. Cake making and decorating is not something I’ve good at, but I was pretty pleased with this LEGO cake. The plates and cups are decorated to look like mini figure heads with a permanent marker and I built a little LEGO holder for my forks. You can purchase a LEGO party pack here.
We can’t send our party guests away empty handed so we have some fun LEGO party Favors:
Each kid will go home with a mini-figure, a bag of brick candy and a LEGO lanyard {all from Amazon}
We can’t wait! What other ideas do you have to make a awesome Lego birthday party?
