We are a popcorn loving family. Most weekends we have it for an evening snack during our family movie or game nights and it’s about the one snack our whole family can agree on. Popcorn is one of those foods that’s also fun to make things with. Who strings popcorn at Christmas? Or makes decorative popcorn balls? Fun times! Over the weekend we tried this fun Rainbow popcorn craft and the colored popcorn turned out SO great. Plus, we just used food coloring so it’s completely safe if your little ones sneaks a few while crafting. {we would know, ha!} Read to the end so you can find out how to enter to win POPCORN FOR A YEAR from Pop Secret!!
So we actually made a rainbow, but really the popcorn is all the colors and you can make whatever you want with it. My main goal through this project was to find a way to color popcorn to be used for various crafting ideas and I succeeded. So… to make your own rainbow popcorn you will need Popcorn {we used microwave from Pop Secret}, a spray bottle and food coloring. Use 5 drops of coloring to 1 tsp of water in your spray bottle to color the popcorn.
Spread on a cookie sheet and spray. If you want both sides colored you will have to wait until the first side dries, then turn and spray the other side. Change your spray color and make lots of rainbow popcorn.
The colors turned out so vibrant! I was excited. I’m already thinking about all kinds of Christmas crafts with red and green popcorn!
Now that your popcorn is all colored you can make something with it! We got some glue, cardstock and got to work. Don’t forget to pop another bag of Pop Secret popcorn so you can eat while you create!
Let the glue dry, then hang your fun pictures for everyone to enjoy! Add paperclips to the corners to make it easy to hang up.
Pop Secret has a goal to go beyond optimism. The bowl shouldn’t only be half full, it should be overflowing! How can we create fun for our families that fit with this goal? They value Taste & Fun. Pop Secret believes fun is an essential ingredient to a full life. We focus on high-quality ingredients and irresistible flavors. #FunSideOut
