My husband and I love to watch American Idol. We don’t watch a ton of TV together, but every spring we love this show! We also love hosting American Idol parties! We’ve usually just hosted an American Idol party for the finale, but I was just thinking that we really should host at least a few times before that as well. I love any reason to get friends together, eat great food, and just have a good time. American Idol is where Superstars are made – I’ve loved watching careers get launched – like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Phillip Phillips, and Daughtry, I’m looking forward to see what happens this year.
Today I’m going to be sharing five tips for hosting an American Idol Party… You can use these anytime during the season, or for the finale…
1. Send out fun invites! I’ve created some “golden ticket” invitations that are free for you to download and send to your friends and family. You can print the tickets HERE>>>Idol party invite. There are three on a page, so invite all your friends!
2. Prep for the party by creating some fun party glasses… These glitter glasses are super easy and so fun to use! Grab some glue, glitter, and plastic or glass wine glasses. Paint on the glue with a brush, then shake the glitter on. Allow to dry before using. You can do the same thing for your bubbly bottle as well. My husband and I don’t drink, but we do like sparkling grape bubbly and when you cover the bottle in glitter it tastes even better.
3. Make great food. I love finger food… appetizers and savory dips! Here are several great finger food recipes to get your started with your party spread. What is your favorite party appetizer?
4. WATCH THE SHOW! Now that your awesome party is happening… enjoy the show! I really love the theme weeks, and also seeing which mentors join the show… Right now it’s just the beginning, so we like trying to predict who’s going to make it through Hollywood week. American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays 8/7 on FOX! The premiere was last week… did you watch? We did and I’m loving the new season. The same judges are back and I really love Jennifer, Keith and Harry. Ryan makes the show great {I’m on a first names basis with them all, ha!}
SUPERSTARS MADE HERE: IDOL is the gold standard and the only TV singing competition show to produce true superstars, including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Phillip Phillips, Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert and many more. A bona fide cultural phenomenon, IDOL’s alumni have sold more than 60 million albums, have garnered more 250 million downloads and have been certified with 20 Platinum and 13 Gold records; and more than 70 IDOL contestants have been on the Billboard charts with 440 songs attaining No.1 Billboard hit status. IDOL contestants have conquered Broadway, television and film, and have won numerous awards and accolades, including American Country Music Awards, Country Music Awards, Grammy Awards and an Academy Award.
Don’t miss this season! This week the auditions continue: 1/14 – KANSAS CITY where there will be lots of great stories and fun from the judges. On the 15th Adam Lambert will guest judge. Don’t miss either episode!
5. Have fun while you watch! Use these simple American Idol Voting forms to play some games while watching. You can have prizes for the winner (s), for one or more of the categories. If you are watching a performance show, you will have to wait for the results to announce the winner and give our prizes… But the suspense adds to the fun!
There you go! Get organized and host an American Idol party soon. We have several friends that watch and it’s always fun to watch together so we can discuss the episodes. Enjoy the show!
