Valentines Wreath {with felt hearts and blossoms}

I adore how this wreath with hearts turned out. You can see my original wreaths below, but I think adding the flowers is the perfect pop of color and I love working with felt. Sewing up the hearts is also a fun hand project and then it goes all together very easy.

DIY Felt Heart and floral wreath

I’m in full on Valentines crafting/sewing/baking these days. And today I’ve got a remake {of a remake} of an old project to share. This Hearts and Blossom Valentines Wreath was fun and easy to make, and turned out just as I hoped! The hearts were on the original wreath and I mixed it up a bit to create the new one.

So pretty right? This wreath is a statement that practice does make perfect. This is my third Valentines heart wreath and the best {if I do say so myself!}. Each version has the similar felt hearts, but the rest has changed over time. You can see the other versions below.. I think it also shows how far I’ve come in my creatvity!

How to make a Valentines Wreath with felt hearts

Felt Valentine Wreath Supplies:

Floral Foam Wreath {16″}
Felt in Valentine Colors
Craft Stuffing
White Ribbon to wrap wreath
needle and string or embroidery floss
Artificial flowers {variety} mine came from Hobby Lobby
- The better quality flowers the better your wreath will look

I will say that sewing all the hearts is a bit tedious, but because I hand sewed them I was able to work on them while watching tv and hanging out with the family over the course of a few days and it went quickly.

Leave an opening to add the stuffing. I make all the hearts to this point, then stuffed them, but you can add the stuffing as you go as well. Make 30-35 hearts in various colors.

The floral makes a mess, but it sure adds the special touch to this wreath. I went with realistic floral from Hobby Lobby for this wreath and I think it’s just gorgous.

And now you can enjoy your new {and beautiful} Valentine Wreath with felt hearts and flowers. We had version 2.0 for years and years and I’m sure this one will be the same.

-alternate wreath base tip-

I used hot glue to attached the hearts floral foam {see video} but if you don’t have a foam wreath you can glue to a wire form as well.

For the wire wreath I tacked them on with just a little glue, then flipped the wreath over to really put the glue on!

After all the hearts were on and spaced…I started sticking the flowers all around… I added them both on the inside and outside of the circle..

I am really love the fresh and pretty finished product. I think I really spruced up the old Valentines Wreath to create one that we will enjoy!

And below is the remake of the original.. this is the one that didn’t make the move from Hong Kong. I had to start over for the new one. This one is much like my new one, only I like to think I made it even better.

Its kind of a mix of Valentines and spring… {wishful thinking?} Anyway, the colors go together really well…Do you make wreaths? I sometimes am inspired right before the holiday… Glad I was able to get this Valentines wreath with felt and flowers ready for us to enjoy in advance.
