Make these easy Grape Nut Muffins for on the go snacking or breakfast. Made with grapenuts cereal and berries with good for you ingredients.
I love breakfast! Ever since I was first pregnant years ago, I pretty much wake up thinking of food. And now that I have little ones, everyone loves breakfast, we don’t do much around here until we have eaten!
Grape-nuts are a family favorite hit around here…which is why I love this healthy Grape Nut Muffin recipe, our favorite cereal… all.day.long!
These muffins are extra healthy because they use whole wheat flour and applesauce instead of oil! You can find my recipe for homemade applesauce here.

Cereal is not just for breakfast anymore. You can pop a couple in your bag and head out the door. Or, if you eat breakfast at home, these make great snacks throughout the day. These muffins are great anytime you need a healthy pick me up. Over the weekend my boys just went crazy for these tasty treats.
I even packed them for school snack today.
Did you know you can buy cereal at Walgreens? They often have amazing sales and you can get the basics for great deals. Next time you are there for something else, head over and check out the cereal isle.

You talk about these being made with applesauce but it is not listed in the ingredients…? Am I missing something?
Emily says
ahhh oh no! I will go fix that… yes, this needs a 1/2 cup of applesauce ;o) Thanks for catching this!!
Susan Kelly says
Need to fix instructions also;)
Peggy says
There is applesauce listed in the ingredients but the instructions never say when to add it to the mix. I made a whole batch and had them already in the muffin tins when I realized I never used the applesauce! Dumped them all back in bowl and added the applesauce, but the instructions really need to be fixed, If I had already put them in the oven before realizing this, it would have been an expensive waste of money.

I’ll go take a look, thanks for letting me know!!

Part of the recipe says to add sugar and there is none listed in the ingredients. I added a banana. Hope that works!
Emily says
I’ve fixed that! Sorry! I bet the banana was perfect though!

I was mostly through this recipe and found that it said to add sugar but it wasn’t listed in ingredients. I put a half cup of brown sugar. I’m not pleased with the muffins. They are just ok. Disappointed that recipe was incomplete.

Hi! It does say 1/2 cup sugar in the ingredient list… Sorry you didn’t love them as much as we do!

Do you have nutritional facts?
