Hi Friends!! The last couple months have been crazy around here and today I’m going to take a moment to share what’s new – both on this blog and in our family. Let’s start with this site… Nap-Time Creations is no more {haha!} although I still try to create while Rose is napping, she is nearing the end of napping in general, so I thought it was time to give my site a name that will take us through in the next stage of life.. and really forever, becuase I don’t want to go through this all again! SOOO… here is it!
Life Sew Savory
This blog is about life, my life, my family’s life, our travels…. of course SEWING! I had to have that in my name somewhere! At first I was thinking to ending with sweet… but then I looked at my life and my kids and our life really is more on the savory side {in a good way}. I’m in the process of changing over my e-mail and every place I’ve had nap-timecreations logos, text and links… but it will take me a few more days to finish all that. You should start to see new text and logos. All my social media is now just @lifesewsavory… Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter are all the same. I’m still working in Youtube and a few others but the main ones are all changed over. If you notice something I’ve missed – please let me know! The FB Pattern Group has a changed name and if you search life sew savory pattern group it will come up, but I cannot change the url.
On a more personal note, in early December we decided it was time to leave Hong Kong. There are many reasons for this, and we still love it here, but are ready to move onto the next adventure… My husband began looking for jobs all over the US and in mid-January was hired by a school in the Denver area. We are very excited to move to CO and look forward to all sorts of outdoor life adventures.
I’m telling you this now becuase I’m sure not sure if I can make an international move and keep up with everything around this site… so if you notice I don’t post for a week… don’t worry! I’ll be around as much as I can, I just don’t know how it will go. We’ve already sold our place here, but we have to sell our furniture, pack up all our stuff, send it off, move to temporary housing, fly back to the US, visit family and friends in the mid-west, then go find an apartment in CO, House hunt, get all furniture… the list could go on and on… plus I’ve got 2 boys who are leaving the only home they’ve ever known and moving to a new country, starting school, making friends, etc.. YIKES! I try not to think about that too much becuse I get totally overwhelmed ;o) and excited… and sad… at the same time… We are here until mid-June, but I’m giving you are life update now as it feels like it will all come up really fast in these next few months. So, I think that brings you up to date on lifesewsavory.com and the Thompson family! From our house to yours.. Emily

Good luck with the move! I have a friend in Denver… be sure not to look at housing prices while you’re here in the Midwest or it’ll be hard to shop after that ๐

Please include me in your blog list. I am a student of sewing. Have been since I was in the 8th Grade. I’m now 61. I studied home Economics at Auburn University and love everything about the home, family and sewing. I think you are very smart and a great lover of family and Jesus. I love the way you photograph every event. Your children will certainly enjoy in the future. I know I enjoy all the pictures and comments. Thanks, your blog is very neat and easy to follow. I look forward to hearing from you.
