We don’t have any food allergies in our house, but I do try to feed my kids {mostly} healthy. I say mostly because we do enjoy our fair share of treats…. but when I can I feed my kids food that nourishes their bodies. These 3 ingredient banana cookies are SO EASY to make and the chocolate chips make them so so yummy to eat. You can make with raisins instead if you want to stay about from sugar all together.
3 ingredient banana cookies
You can take the basic mix and edit as you want. A friend of mine shared this recipe at the moms group I co-lead and I’ve been making them ever since. The basic cookies are just oats and bananas {and you could just make it with those 2 things!} but you can also add lots of add ins… chia seeds, dried fruit, dried coconut, flaxseed, nut butters of choice, or chocolate chips.
I used the Enjoy Life mini chocolate chips because they keep these cookies allergy friendly. Just mash the bananas, then add in the oats and at least one other ingredient. The recipe makes about 12-15 small cookies – just perfect for little hands.
They are super yummy right out of the oven {when the chocolate is soft!} or you can keep them in the fridge for 2-3 days. They are best eaten within that time frame.
I like to make these cookies when my bananas are just going soft, and I need to use them up fast… Plus… they take ingredients that I almost always have on hand.
3 Ingredient Banana Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 cups oats
- 2-3 soft bananas
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips {optional}
- any other nuts, seeds, chia/flax, nut butter, honey or dried fruit add in {optional}
Instructions
- Mash the bananas, then add in the oats, and chocolate chips. If adding other dry ingredients, dont add all the oats. If adding a nut butter or honey you may need to add a but more oats. You want the consistency to be firm enough to form a ball. You can't really go wrong! Make small 1" balls on a greased cookie sheet and then place in preheated oven at 325F or 180C. Bake for 12-15 min or until firm. Enjoy within the next few days for best taste and consistency.

The three ingredient cookies look wonderful. In the “step-by-step” description you talk about eating them right from the oven when the chocolate is warm and gooey. However, neither there or anywhere in the printed recipe do you say anything about baking them. Do you bake them?

I’ve got a batch of these in the oven. Hoping to tempt my fruit averse six year old to give them a try. I’ve split the mixture in half and done chocolate chips for her and raisins for her fruit-loving and chocolate-hating brother. Wish me luck!
