Reusable Snack Bags – Sewing Tutorial
Moms on the go have to stick together!! These boys are currently doing soccer 3x a week plus school, so the whole family is on the go a lot… the boys want post-practice snacks and Rose wants snacks during practice {haha} So today’s sewing tutorial is a 2 pocket reusable snack bag tutorial that holds 2 different snacks.
I’ve made a few reusable snack bags before, but this time I decided it would be fun to have 2 different snack options for the kids in one bag. It’s a great way to give some variety and give the kids 2 great snack options.
Grab your favorite snacks, water proof fabric {I used PUL}, and the FREE printable template. You will also need snaps or velcro for a closure. You can print the template by clicking the link above or make your own.
For each snack bag you want to make, cut 2 pieces of fabric. Sew {almost} all the way around, leaving an opening to turn.
Turn the fabric right side out. Poke out the corners and curved edge. Fold in the seam allowance of the opening and pin or clip. Sew very close to the edge along this short side.
Fold this edge up to the bottom of the curve and pin or clip.
Sew very closely to the edge of these sides and right down the center to form two pockets.
Place one side of the snap 1/2″ from the edge at the center – top of the curved edge.
Fold over the flap and see where the edge fall. Mark just under the edge and place the other side of the snap at the center of the bag. I placed mine just to the side of the center seam.
And it’s done! So cute right? You can use fun fabric, or even just plain fabric for this useful and practical reusable snack bag.
Fill up with all your snacking favorites and get out and enjoy the summer and all the on the go fun that comes with it. Here’s a quick video of how I made mine…
For me… I’ll keep heading out to the soccer field and keeping my kids fed… and when soccer turned to swim team and baseball camp, we will be ready with our DIY snack bags.

How cute! What kind of fabric works best for these snack bags?
Emily says
I like to use PUL, but anything with a bit of slickness works well

Hello! Pattern looks cute. Did you use PUL fabric for both pieces of fabric? Or just the one side. and if just one side, what types of fabric did you use?
