Gallery Wall: Bedroom Week Day 1

Can I just say I love gallery walls? I’ve never really done one… until now!

Some of you may remember back in the fall when I asked, “Should I buy them?” about a photo shoot that we had. YOU all gave positive feed back… SO… I did buy them! The CD came a few weeks long and then just sat in a drawer….

When we were back in the States over Christmas I found a great deal on frames at Kohls the day after Christmas (yes I was out shopping!) and so I ended up with all these frames. I originally thought I had bought a collage frame that was stuck together, but actually they were all separate! opps! It worked out though!

I got back to Hong Kong, printed all the photos.. put them in the frames and was just getting ready to hang them on the wall… when we decided to sell our place. So, back in the drawer they went. Fast forward to the end of May…. we move… and one of the first things I have my husband do is hang up all the shelves for the photos.

Here’s the result!

Its on the wall above our bed and I love it!

I used these Malden frames from Kohls. See how I thought the one on the left was all stuck together? I couldn’t find a picture of the 5×7 and 4×6 packs I bought, but they were like these 8×10 ones. After Christmas it was buy one, get one for $1, so I got all the frames for $45.

We hung the 8×10 and 11×14 directly to the wall and then installed four of these shelves from IKEA.

Even though the photos are now almost a year old, I am still so excited to have them up.

The smaller frames are sitting on the shelves, not attached in any way… but they seem to be fine with the lip that is on the side of the shelf.

I tried to pick pictures that went up and sideways so the frames have some variety.

I have seen SO many really neat wall gallery ideas around… so I know this is just another one, but I really do like the end result and I also was happy that each shelf can hold three frames.
