I think the sweatpants look great with both the elastic and band bottom, but I’m including instructions and pattern pieces for both, so you can choose your favorite, or make both! Like I did. These pants are made to fit loose. They are also made to be full throughout the legs. The length should be on the long side to keep the loose look. https://lifesewsavory.com/free-unisex-sweatpants-pattern/

Hey Emily, I downloaded your pattern this evening and got really excited. I’m not quite sure what went wrong, but when I placed the pieces together size 4 endet up being my size. I’m not sure if I just misread and this isn’t a children but an adults pattern. The pattern looks otherwise really nice and I will definitely try it for myself.
I would appreciate your help, lots of love from Norway.

Hello, I thank you for your kind pattern sharing, but my pattern also came out big enough for adults. Test square was a tiny bit off but not much. Best wishes.

this seems very strange as I have made this pattern in all sizes for my kids… from smallest to largest I haven’t had trouble… Im sorry it didn’t work for you.
