Pantone Party with Project Run and Play
** fabric for this look was given to me by Raspberry Creek Fabrics** they have the most amazing selection of viva magenta fabrics.
We had the most beautiful snow last week and I made Rose go out as soon as she got home from school. She was cold and hungry and not at all impressed with my timing, but even with those strikes against us, the photos turned out pretty great.
This fabric is part of the custom printing library on Raspberry Creek and it is so lovely. I added embroidery to the front of the jumper… not really by choice. Want the full story? Check out my post to see all the details on the how and why of the embroidery.
I call this the perfect play outfit because its super comfy {the fabric is amazing}, dressy, but yet made for play. My daughter loves to play hard {and cartwheel} but she also loves to look cute. Rose wears a pair of shortie leggings under this skirt so she can cartwheel at any moment.
I got some crazy faces when I asked her not to look so cold {haha} I had the wooden buttons in my stash and they ended up to be the perfect detail to add to this dress.
All patterns are from the Project Run and Play Shop. My daughter plays hard, but is ALL GIRL too! I think this outfit is the best of both worlds. A practical t-shirt {the Easel Tee} and cardigan {the Blank Canvas Cardigan} paired with the most adorable jumper {D’Anjou Dress} is the perfect mix, just like Rose.

The pockets on this dress are so cute! If I had realized how they folded over earlier I would have used different fabric for the lining {that you would see when folded} I was too far into the project and behind schedule due to my mistake, so I just left the pockets.
The tee and cardigan look adorable with jeans as well, but they look amazing all together as well. Rose finds this outfit comfortable and has worn it as soon as it came out of the wash every time.
I’m sure as it warms up she will wear this more without the cardigan, the zipper is super cute on the back. It also means you don’t really have to use the front buttons, we just use the zipper on the back to get it on and off.

Great jumper and really good example of how to hide a mistake with embroidery!!! Serger mishaps are the most aggravating I’ve known….except when I’d just finished a skirt with cute ribbon trim and my son snipped a little hole in it!! He was about 18 months old and his sister was 3. After getting over the shock, I realized the hole was in a perfect place for a pocket so I put an iron on patch on the back, made a sweet pocket with the pretty ribbon at the top and solved the problem. The little design element was perfect. My mom had sewed with little ones on her lap (there were six of us!) and I never did till that day and never after!!!

Very cute outfit! What pattern did you use for the cardigan?

That’s really cute. In addition, should it be combined with thermal pants or not?
