No, those aren’t bugs in my broccoli! They are black sesame seeds and this garlic broccoli salad is SO flavorful. A mix of Asian flavors and broccoli salad, this is a favorite of mine. The broccoli is actually cooked al dente by the hot oil, but you eat it chilled. You could also serve warm over rice, but we’ve usually eaten it as a cold salad. Either way is so flavorful. As we get closer to garden season/farmers markets this is an excellent way to spice up your veggie eating.
I’ve also made it with regular sesame seeds… the flavor is the same, I just tried black this time to mix is up.. and I’m not sure if I like it… it looks a little buggy {ha!} This salad whips up in about 10 minutes, chill for an hour and serve up this delicious garlic broccoli salad. It’s a very flavorful and fresh salad, you won’t be disappointed!

I’m excited to try this! I’m glad you mentioned that you used regular sesame seeds before, since I have those on hand already. My husband and I love broccoli, but I almost always make it the same way, so it’s nice to have a new way of making it to mix things up. I’m going to pin this so I can revisit it after I pick up some fresh broccoli at the store.
