We don’t take the kids to very many movies in the theater… but when I saw the preview for Big Hero 6 I knew that my boys would love it. So we saw it in the theater and they have asked every week since then when it was coming out on DVD… We were thrilled when it was released last week and I put together several fun Big Hero 6 games and activities for our dvd watching fun!
If you haven’t seen the movie, that’s the first place to start. You can grab your copy of Big Hero 6 at Target.
We were super excited to watch the DVD and I just love how funny this movie is. My boys think it’s hilarious and I even laughed out loud at the scene where Baymax was taping all the holes in his body… so funny! It was just as good the second time around.
Because we are so obsessed with Baymax and because they want to watch the movie every day, I had to come up with some other ways to get their Baymax fix.I’ve created two activities that were fun to play and do after we watched the movie. Go here to download the template. . You will need a plain white Baymax, then several other Big Hero 6 related photos. I would recommend printing them on cardstock, or gluing the printed paper on to cardstock.
You will need a shoe lace and a hole punch to prepare the cards. After you have printed your Baymax picture put dots where you should punch the holes, punch, then tie the lace to one of his feet. This is a great fine motor skill practice for kids, plus mine loved it.
The difference in lacing/sewing ability between 4 and 6 is quite amazing. This was a real challenge for the 4 year old, but my 6 year old son was done quickly with neat even laces.
You end up with a cute little Baymax when finished!
The matching game was so much fun. My 4 your old is freakishly good an matching games, I seriously have a hard time beating him. So we’ve played a lot of this Big Hero 6 matching game in the last few days. You can find my version here to print Big Hero 6 Matching Game. Print on cardstock or glue on a printed paper. Let dry, then cut around the circle or squares {whatever you did with your pictures}. Mix up and place face down.
Try to make a match!
And for our final fun activity we tried to make little marshmallow Baymax treats. I made an example and my boys tried to copy.
You will need regular and mini marshmallows and toothpicks to create your own Baymax. We make him with short legs, long arms and a small head…. How would you create your Baymax?
So that’s our fun Big Hero 6 Games and Activities night! Have you seen the movie? If you have a favorite activity that goes with this movie, please let me know! Get more DVD details on the Target Facebook or Target Twitter
