Fall leaf table runner
I love beautiful holiday decor…. you can see below where I’ve given you a list of other fun fall projects that I love vibrant, rich colors that are perfect for fall home decor. Adding this runner to my box of fall decor was an easy choice. The year before I had embroidered some Thanksgiving napkins and the two projects go together perfectly.
The fun thing about machine embroidery is that you can go for subtle, or you can really go all out and make a statement. I went for a bit more on the subtle side with this fall leaf runner. Hopefully my fall leaf runner inspires you to make something similar.

How to embroider and fall table runner
Supplies needed:
- Table runner {I bought this one on Amazon}
- Embroidery stabilizer
- Embroidery design {I used ones from the Artspira App}
- Embroidery thread
For this project I used my Brother machine with a 8′ x 12″ hoop, however, you could do this with a smaller hoop, you would just have to move the hoop more often. If you have a wifi enabled machine there are tons of cute leaf options on the Artspira App and you can you the design editor to combine several to create a design similar to what I am sewing here.
On the left are some of the cute Artspira designs I found when searching fall. There are way more options than just these. The machine I am using does not have wifi, so these leaf designs came from Ibroidery. But I use Artspira whenever possible, its so easy! I imported the two different leave designs, then copied and rotated them until I had a pattern I was happy with.
Hoop the runner with a layer of embroidery stabilizer under the fabric. Load into your machine.
If your machine can combine colors I recommend doing that to make it easier. If your machine doesn’t have that option you can just skip to the next color and embroider all of one color before changing thread.
After you have stitched a full hoop, move the hoop to the next section of fabric. If you are using a smaller hoop you may have to move after each leaf.
When the design has finished stitching you can remove from the hoop and give your runner a good steam pressing. The puckers came out for me with a lot of work {haha} but the result is worth it!
