inside: You know I love making things with fabric! This fall fabric home decor is a great way to decorate with fabric for fall.
I made a sign like this in the spring, but my new fall fabric home decor is really adding a pop to our mantel. This is a super easy DIY with great results. If you have a craft cutting machine {like my Scan N Cut} you can easily make this in about an hour. Grab some gorgeous fall fabric, and a wood plank and let’s get started.
Fall Fabric Home Decor –
I’ve got a full tutorial with video from the last time I made this project. You can find that tutorial HERE. This post will give you all the details for making pallet art for fall, but I’ll walk you through the steps here as well. If you need more details, photos or the videos, head over to the other post. I love the satisfaction of peeling off the extra fabric and seeing my letters revealed. Sometimes I do have to clip a curve or two where the blade didn’t get all the way through.
Fall Home Decor-
To make this gorgeous fall home sign you will need:
- fabric {fat quarters would probably work}
- Wood { I got mine at Hobby Lobby} and a
- Mod Podge and a paint brush
I used the font Declara and cut a small GIVE and then a large THANKS.. I had to cut the THANKS in four pieces as my cutting mat is only 12″ wide. The T is separate, then the h-a, then n, then the k-s. Depending on the size of your wood you can section however you want. Arrange on the wood.
I lift each section of the fabric and put mod podge under first. Then I lay the fabric on top and coat the top of the fabric with the glue.
I also spread the glue out from each letter to blend it all in. Don’t worry if it looks like mine below.. it will dry clear!
Place it on a shelf, mantle or anywhere else in your home that needs a gorgeous pop of fall color with this Fall Fabric Home Decor.
