Check out my winter / fall fabric picks for sewing the season. The best fabrics for fall and winter sewing projects of all kinds.
I’ve become a bit of a fabric hoarder with all the gorgeous fall fabrics I see online. My storage is bursting with thick sweater knits, soft legging fabric and beautiful flannels. Today I’m sharing some great winter and autumn fabric you should be sewing! I also have a list of great patterns and tutorial to use these fabrics for.
Fall & Winter Fabric Favorites
So I’ve been busy sewing leggings for Pjs, myself, my daughter and Halloween Costumes, sweaters {SO many sweaters!} I have fleece, flannel and some fun tight fabric waiting to be sewn {all the fabric links below}
Below is the list of the fall fabrics I’m currently loving! I’ve purchased the tight fabric, lots of sweater and waffle, plus the sugar pop already this season. The fleece and flannel are similar to ones I purchased last year so I know they are great.

Can you recommend fabrics for work wear? Women’s suites and 4 pc. Wardrobes?
Emily says
honestly I haven’t sewn with work wear fabric so am not confident to recommend quality fabric for this.

I love DBP for leggings, but would also like to make some fleece-lined ones like you can buy ready made. Do you have any idea what the name of the fabric type is? And any good sources? If you look up anything with fleece in the name, you get directed to polar fleece type fabrics. I love you work! Thanks for all you do!

I think you are looking for something like this? https://www.moodfabrics.com/applications/outerwear-fabrics/jacketing-fabrics/gamboge-fleece-backed-stretch-cotton-knit-322126 I found it with a quick search for stretch fleece…

I’m not clear on how much fabric is required for the raglan T-shirt. The directions say 1-1.5 yards. What would be required for the body of an XL, and contrasting sleeves?
Thanks, love your site!
