My boys are just crazy about dinosaurs! We have many many plastic toys, movies and books that are dino themed. I was so excited to discover that The Land Before Time was releasing a new dvd collection. I LOVED that movie as a kid and it’s one my boys have not seen yet… so fun to introduce them to something from my childhood. To celebrate the movie night with this DVD, I also made these cute felt Land Before Time characters and today am sharing the felt dinosaurs template for you to make them too!
I picked up a box of homestyle Pop Secret at Walmart, because you can’t have a movie night without popcorn! Head to Walmart to grab The Land Before Time: The Complete Collection DVD available now, while supplies last!
You will need 2- 8×10 pieces of felt for each dino and can pick up those while you are out, or use scraps from home. Grab the felt dinosaurs template here: SPIKE, ALI, CERA. You will also need some scraps of felt and embroidery floss, and some stuffing.
Cut out the paper template and then place it on the felt. 
If you want the simple version, just sew around the outside of the dinosaur. I used a simple whip stitch. If you want to add a bit more detail you can use the guidelines on the template to add some stitches on one side of the felt dinosaur. Then stitch around the outside, leaving an opening to stuff in some batting. Stuff, then close the opening. 
Cute and pretty easy! 
We played outside with the dinosaurs for a bit, then sat down with out popcorn, dinos and a movie for a fun family evening.
After we watch a movie my boys always love to play with toys from what they have seen. They act out what they saw, and add to the story.
It was fun to share a movie from my childhood with my kids and I think that these felt dinosaurs will inspire fun play for days to come.
