inside: A little peak at my time at the Houston Quilt festival last week. Working with All Brands representing Brother was a blast.
I spent last week and through the weekend at the Houston Quilt Festival and it was so much fun I thought I would share my reflections and some photos. Hopefully you were able to attend yourself, but if you weren’t there, this will give you a little peak into the event.
Quilt Festival with All Brands
First off… a huge thanks to AllBrands for hosting me and asking me to join them for another year of fun. I went last year for the first time and was thrilled to be asked back again this year. Everyone from the AllBrands stores is just so sweet and fun to be around, plus it’s a weekend of talking about sewing, embroidery and machines! What could be better?
Photos with members of the Allbrands team! Barbara in red is the owners daughter and it just amazing and putting on a great show display. All the store staff were amazing too!
I had so much fun sewing some fun new outfits that were quilt themed for this event. I ordered all my quilty clothes fabric from Spoonflower and used these patterns:
- Skirt with Pockets
- Free wide leg pants
- Sweatshirt dress
- Tate Romper {not my design I purchased this pattern}
- Valley Jumpsuit {not my design}
We wore the Mini Mouse ears a couple of days to represent that Brother machines come with built in Disney designs.
In addition to hanging out at the booth and promoting the machines, I did a daily stage demo on the serger. I just was able to show some of the main features that I love about the serger and how easy it is to use.
They live-streamed all the demos as well on social media and had an amazing set up so you could see both the front and back of what I was showing. So well done! Of course I have to talk about how amazing the the air-threading feature is of this machine.
The area of the booth set up with sergers and the cover-stitch. I brought a few things I had made using these machines.
I got to know some of the Brother education team a bit better. Sara from Sav_NYC and Alexis from Sew Sweet Academy were so lovely. It was also fun to see Dawn from Creative Appliques again – I met her last year at the show!
Here are a couple of other photos I took. First of the booth, and second overhead of some of the other booths. It really is amazing to see all the vendors.
A peak at the quilt show amazing quilts!
Now a little peak as some of the incredible quilts that were on display in the actual quilt show part of it. WOW!! Incredible. There were winners in a bunch of categories and I didn’t write down all that information, so I’m just going to share some of the photos. I don’t have all the details on each one.
of course these photos don’t give justice to the size and detail of each quilt.
And that’s it! So much fun and so much I didn’t even get to see! Working at the event I am limited on my time to sneak away, but I did get to check out plenty, as you can see hear. It’s a great weekend and a highlight of my year.
