SEO for Blogger Blogs

ok… Maybe you already know all this… and its just me who’s behind the times.. but I recently learned a couple of new tips for better SEO for my blogger blog and I want to share. We all want to improve right? Blogger now makes it EASY to improve your SEO without a plugin or much effort. They’ve made some changes to the blogger platform that integrate better SEO right into your post and blog. 

First, Go and change your blog descriptiong {meta tag} so that when someone searches for your blog they get the description YOU want them to see, not what the search engine chooses.
Here’s what I get when I search my blog… I’m the number one result {yeah!}
To get this description go to Blogger-Settings-Search Preferences
 Here you can add a description for you blog: if it says {disabled} by Description, click {edit} enable {yes} and add your description. {save changes}
Now, for part two… lets make your individual posts more appealing to search engines! When composing a post you should have a list of settings along the right hand side. Click the one that says search description and add your post KEYWORDS there. These should match your title.
Also, you should add alt text to your photos… I used to go to HTML editing and put in the code, but blogger just made it so much easier! Upload your photos and place in your post. Then click the photo to see the options as below.
 Click properties and add you title and alt text there to name your photo for SEO.

    This is so helpful. Every time I’ve seen “Improve your SEO” articles, they’ve never explained how to do anything specifically in Blogger or in terms that didn’t make my eyes glaze over. Pinned this so I can come back to it for my upcoming posts!
