Hi! I am Sarah from BlogsLikeAMother and I am so excited to be part of the Sew Many Books tour. As an avid reader and the mother of two book obsessed kiddos, I find inspiration in books for many areas of my life. Reading is a huge part of our lives; even if nothing else gets done in our day, we always have a story before bedtime. One of my girls favorite books to read is Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes.
Chrysanthemum is a book about confidence, peer pressure and the impact that one person sticking up for another can have. In short, it’s a positive message inside of a cute little story.
Chrysanthemums eclectic style and the importance of her confidence building clothes are central to the story, so it was fun to recreate some looks inspired by her story. I used the Amelie Clothing Boho Dress and Lilly Ruffle Blouse patterns paired with the Greenstyle Creations Lucy Legging to create my looks and I am thrilled with how they came together.
I used several fabrics from the Riley Blake line to make my Chrysanthemum inspire outfits; the wovens are just gorgeous and the knits are so soft I am tempted to try to squeeze into these leggings myself (ok, that’s never going to happen…but you get my drift!)
