Summer brings Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day and Labor Day, and I have a great craft for you to do with your kids to help celebrate our great nation! This “stained glass” flag is so eye-catching when it’s hung on the window and it is super easy to make. Trust me, if I can make it, anyone can.
Stained Glass Flag
- Clear contact paper
- Black construction paper
- Red, white and blue tissue paper
- Scissors
- Ruler and pencil
Begin by folding your paper in half and cutting strips out of the paper from the folded end. I used a ruler and pencil to mark my stripes and edges. Honestly, I didn’t measure and was going to just cut as many stripes as would fit, but it worked out perfectly and I had thirteen stripes when I was done! Anyway, start at the bottom and cut up 2/3 of the way.
This is what it will look like after you’ve cut the first seven stripes. You will now want to fold over ONLY the right side of the paper so you can finish cutting the last six stripes. This will leave you with a block of black for your blue section.
You can see where I folded over that right side of the paper to get the last six stripes done. Then I marked off the edges and cut out the rectangle where the blue paper would go. At this point, you’re ready to cut a piece of contact paper an inch or so longer and wider than your flag outline. Carefully place the flag front side down on the sticky side of the contact paper and press it down to be sure there are no bubbles.
Now, take your tissue paper and cut it into little pieces. None of mine were the same. I just folded it over and starting chopping it up. There were squares and rectangles. Take the tissue in alternating red and white and place it between the black borders. The sticky contact paper will hold it in place. Then fill up the blue section with overlapping pieces. At first, I was trying not to overlap too much, but I realized the cool stained glass effect comes from the areas of paper that overlap, so stick away!
When you’re finished, cut another sheet of contact paper and place it over the back to seal the whole thing together. Trim any excess and hang on a window to enjoy all summer! Isn’t it pretty? Happy Summer!

Several factors can cause excess fuel to end up in the combustion chambers.
Smoke damage may not be obvious so it is better if
you consult with the experts especially regarding cleanup of painted walls or replacement of wallpapers.
Due to the reality that this is a recently found portion of the law,
it is unfamiliar how a California judge would choose.

Whether you are one of the many new and upcoming restaurants

going to get the business you could get if no one knows you’re there.
Usually the courses cover the business angle, human capital and customer
service aspects of the hospitality industry. For instance, restaurant paging is used when a special anniversary
or location change is being disseminated.
