Same pattern – lower price!! Updated 6/2022
the Summer Play Skirt Pattern – new lower price
The perfect skirt for the girl who wants to look cute and also play hard. My daughter is non-stop, but also likes to wear the girly things in her dresser. I created this skirt so that she can choose what she wants to wear and still be ready to play hard with her brothers. The summer play skirt has a flat front waistband and elastic back. A gathered skirt has built in shorts so you never have to worry about what you are playing while wearing this skirt. Sized from 18M-8Y this skirt is ready to be your best friend all summer long.
You can buy the pattern in my SHOP – and now its only $2!! I sewed it again this week so I could show off some new photos and try a pattern I haven’t sewn in awhile.
If you are looking for a cute pattern to sew this summer – look no farther… I’m going to slowly lower the price of some of my older patterns that don’t get a lot of traction… This is a great little skirt and the built in shorts are perfect!
Please use the hashtag #summerplayskirt when sharing so I can see your work, show it on in our FB group!
And my first attempt at pattern line drawings.
I made my daughter two skirts. One in all knit and one with a woven skirt.
This is a skirt made with woven fabric. The shorts are still knit, but with light cotton, you can make the skirt with a non-knit fabric.
Here are some of the testers adorable skirts! I’m loving all the summer fabrics!!

Adorable! I used to have some of these for my girls long ago, but they were not as cute as yours! Thanks for sharing with us this week at Snickerdoodle Sunday. Pinning to share.

well, they dont have to be cute if you just wear them underneath ;o) Ive also cut off the legs of leggings with holes for the same purpose.. whatever works!

Emily, I guess I need to see how the skirt and short look from the inside before sewing them together. I followed the instructions and watched the FB video and mine still don’t look right. When my shorts attach to the waistband, you can’t turn down the waistband to sew as it’s on the inside. My shorts are at the very top of the waist. They look horrible!
