inside: This tomato salad stack is beautiful and tasty. A gorgeous tomato salad with a stack of sliced and flavorful ingredients in each layer. Corn, bacon, dressing and basil make this a summer salad you don’t want to miss. Add avocado for even more tasty flavors.
Three years ago I made and shared a recipe like this tomato salad stack. My mom and I were talking about how delicious it was so we made it again. It was even better than I remembered! This salad is so full of flavor and healthy too! I changed up a few things to my recipe from last time, and here is the result.
This salad has tomatoes as a base with basil, corn, avocado and bacon added. Topped with a creamy, tangy sauce, this tomato salad is so perfect for late summer when tomatoes are full in flavor. With garden {or farmers market} fresh tomatoes and corn, you won’t be able to get enough!
Tomato Salad Stack
Layer the tomato with avocado..
Then add the corn..
Add the bacon {bacos} Dressing and a basil leaf for garnish..
Then… enjoy your creation visually and with your taste buds! The smaller the tomato, the more bite-size this salad can be. It’s great with a fork and knife too.

Tomato Salad Stack
Prep Time
15 minutes
Total Time
15 minutes
Ingredients
- You will need:
- Four Large Tomatoes {or 12 small ones}
- Bacon or Bacos, two pieces for each tomato
- 1 Avacado
- 1 ear of corn, on or off the cobb
- fresh basil, optional
- for sauce:
- 1/4 cup light Mayonnaise
- 2 TBS white vinegar
- 1 large clove of minced garlic, or 1 TBS out of a jar
- 1 TBS dry or fresh diced basil
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients for the sauce and place to the side. Slice the tomato in four thick slices. You can do this if making the large or small side tomato. If you have corn on the cob, grill on the grill until lightly brown. Or place corn kernels in a pan and sauté with olive oil until browned. Slice the avocado and cook the bacon until crispy. Assemble the stack with layers. I just put the avocado and sauce in the middle and corn and bacon on the top. Garnish with more sauce and fresh basil leaves. I had to cut it all up to eat, but it was delicious!
