Today I’m showing off another room in our home… this travel themed bedroom has been about a year in the making, but I love the way it’s all coming together. We moved into this home the end of last Aug. and have been slowly making it “home” for us. Here’s my sewing room tour. In this post I’m showing off our travel themed master bedroom and fun photo printing company Printage Inc. {follow this link for a FREE tile!}
{I was provided with Meshtiles and MeshCanvas in exchange for this post}
Travel Themed Bedroom – Ideas and Inspiration
OK, let’s first talk about the newest addition to our travel bedroom… these gorgeous MeshTiles and MeshCanvas from Printage Inc. {Get your FREE tile here.} Here is a tile and a canvas – both are 8 x 12 and you can see the difference between the two. Check out all the great sizes Printage has – not just squares!
You can also see in my video that it’s possible to MOVE the tiles after you have placed them, to make sure you get the perfect placement. I added these photos of my kids to my room – not travel themed – but cute photos of the kids that I had framed in our apartment in HK, but had not hung yet here. All the kids are around 7 months in these photos and printed on the MeshCanvas.. so cute!
I had six MeshTiles printed with photos of Hong Kong. One of our friends has a drone and took these amazing photos. Here is the before of our wall.
And here are the fun Hong Kong photos added! The three panel from one photo is my favorite!!! You can follow the photographer on Instagram here: Amerikong
OK! Let’s take a complete look at our travel themed bedroom… In January I painted the walls this bright blue to go with our new Azalea Sky Bedding. We have a duvet for winter and a thin quilt in the same print for summer. My husband put in the sliding doors right after we moved in last fall. I put all the other travel decor up after we painted. The three paintings on the left are cultural Chinese prints and the top black frames are photos we have taken around the world.
Here’s the other side of the room. I got the green blackout curtains at Target. The scratch off map is fun and you can see it here. We also have other cultural Mongolian prints, a boomerang, and Slovakian axe thing on the wall that would be to the left of this one. Things we have collected in our lives and travels.
Here are to other fun areas.. Corner shelves are a great way to show off small items bought while travelling. The big white frame is a collage of all the trips we have taken since getting married in 2003. Actually, it’s not all of them because if we repeated a location I didn’t add another photo {haha} I’ve written up many of our travels here. I’m looking at this USA map that you can add photos to so we can start documenting out USA travels.
The ceilings are lofted in our room and we have a map of Hong Kong and a Chinese ink drawing up there. I’m on the look out for some vintage suitcases for the opposite side.
Here’s {almost} the whole room… the wall you don’t see is the door to enter and the door for our closet. Okay! I think that pretty much sums up our room. Take a look below for the links to other photos of our home.
