I know everyone gets pumpkin crazy in the fall, but I think apple deserve equal attention! I’ve made several delicious apple desserts over the years as I love them so much! This apple pancake recipe is one that is healthy enough to be a meal, not just a dessert.
How to make whole wheat pancakes –
Whole Wheat Apple Pancakes
Ingredients
- 2 apples
- 2 tsp butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 TBS Brown Sugar
- 2 cups whole wheat bread flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1-2 cups lowfat milk, you can add more or less depending on you pancake thickness desire
Instructions
- Saute the apples in butter, add cinnamon and sugar as they begin to soften. Cook over medium heat until just soft.
- Mix Pancake Batter in mixing bowl. Put flour and baking powder, then eggs and milk. Mix until combined, then add the cooked apples.
- Pour some batter in the greased pan. When bubbles form in the batter, turn over and cook until lightly browned. Continue until all batter is made into pancakes. Will make about 5 large pancakes.
We love pure maple syrup on our pancakes, but you can top with anything you like. Top with honey or pure Syrup {healthy version} and/or whipped cream for a real treat! …Not sure if these Apple Pancakes are a meal or dessert!
