Gift ornaments for kids make great small gifts for the kids of my friends. I always want to give gifts, but not something that costs a lot, but it’s always fun to open presents, right? This year my kids helped me make up several ornaments for kids, and we will be giving versions of these to our friends for Christmas. I’m sure you can come up with a million ornaments for kids ideas once you start thinking, but here are mine for the year.
Ornaments for kids ideas-
To start you will need some plastic ornaments that open in the middle. The glass ones from yesterday are for adult gifts only around here! You can find plastic ones like this on Amazon here {affiliate link}, or in craft stores too. Pretty much you can fill them with anything kids will love, I’m giving a few kid ornament ideas here.
I SPY ornament. Collect 10-15 small items. Buttons, beads, small toys all work well. You can use fake snow, or bean bag stuffing {like I did, because it was on hand!} Place the toys in one half, and the snow in the other. Carefully close. {it was messy} ha!
I would suggest GLUING this ornament closed! Take no chances with the mess!
I typed up a little card with all the items and attached it to the ornament. I would share my printable, but then you would have to use the exact same items…
Another fun kid ornament idea is a bath ornament! My plastic ornaments were big enough for a bath pouf, but if yours is smaller a washcloth would work well too.
Add homemade soap in fun shapes to complete the gift. A gift certificate to Bath and Body Works or something similar would make a bigger gift. I didn’t make my soap, but we have a friend who makes homemade soap, so I used hers.
And my final idea of the day, which my boys love, but want to keep for themselves {of course!} LEGO ornament… any other small doll or figurine would work too!
Find a small flat base piece. If not using legos glue doll to flat cardboard. Glue figure to one half of the ornament.
I used hot glue so it would be fast.
SO fun right? Boys gifts are always harder to think of, so I’m so excited about this one for this Christmas!
What other themed ornament gift ideas can you think of? I have more empty ornaments to fill, what should I make?
