Inside: Create fun DIY Christmas sweatshirts with free sewing patterns and cut files. Make fun holiday tops for the whole family with these free sewing patterns and cut file ideas.
I’m super excited to share my newest Christmas creation with you today. I made DIY Christmas sweatshirts for the kids and myself. I’ve got several free sewing patterns that work well for these fun shirts as well as the free cut file that I used to create these.
DIY Christmas Sweatshirts
Last weekend we went to cut down our Christmas tree in one of the National Forests here in CO. The tags are relatively inexpensive to cut a live tree and it’s always an adventure.
I had the brilliant idea to have the kids wear their new Christmas shirts and then take photos with the pretty background. Well the shirts were great and the forest was gorgeous, but the kids were cold and not super excited the photos so the results are not super great. {haha!}
BUT that doesn’t mean that I can’t share the patterns I used, the fun soft fleecy fabric and the free cut file I found over on my friends site for free.
All three kids are wearing one of my free sewing patterns and the same fun fleecy brushed terry fabric.

Max said that long sleeves make his arms itchy, but I bet he was wishing for sleeves when we were taking photos in the cold {haha} His shirt is the basic boys t-shirt pattern. Jack has the same shirt as his base, but long sleeve with the hood add on. Rose is wearing the girls swing top with a band on the bottom and some fun color blocking.
Grab one of my free sewing patterns for kids from my shop and then grab the free svg or another fun one you like and get making.
I also made this one for myself with the Boyfriend Shirt pattern and sweatshirt fleece. I just looked up a a nativity scene and then used the trace feature with the Scan N Cut and cut the design.

You guys all look awesome! We like to cut real trees, too. It’s usually $5 for 3 trees (Alberta, Canada). Happy Advent! Your own tee is awesome! Yes, a life-changing, true story.😉
