Remember my adorable niece from two weeks ago? Well, she is back again gorgeously modeling the Lillian Dress by Mouse House Creations. This lovely dress has a super cute vinategy {not sure that’s a word} feel and I just love the way it looks. I’ve been on a roll with Hayley’s patterns as I recently sewed up this Caroline dress for myself… and loved it! But, back to this little creation… I don’t live near my sister, so I have to give her a shout out for taking these photos… I do love that I can still sew for cutie and mail her clothes from far away! I had a yellow flower print and a yellow/orange check print in my stash that I used for this dress. The check fabric was used to make the bias tape neck closure and the dress is also fully lined with the same fabric.
I think this was my first time actually sewing such tiny pintucks. This is what really makes the dress and I can’t wait to sew up a few more. I will admit my tucks are not perfect.. but they are pretty close and it was a learning experience for sure. The buttons are just a mock closure, but I like the green accent. There is a tiny bit of green in the print too.
The pin tucks are a bit tricky to sew, but the pattern does an amazing job of walking you though it and the markings are easy to read. The rest of the dress sews up pretty quick as the back is just a key-hole with neckline tie. The length is vintage short, but I added two inches to the length for my tall niece. She is wearing 3t rtw and I sewed up a 3.. it fits great.
And one more full length shot…
I guess the shoot started out a bit rough… but she turned it around and got some cute photos after this beauty was taken {ha!}
A couple close ups from before I sent off the dress.. You can see the print better here and also the elastic wrist. The pattern has several sleeve options… It’s still cool where my sister is, so I know she can wear this for a couple months with the long sleeves. Maybe I’ll shop it to short sleeves when I see her this summer…
I just adore the front! Bias tape neckline, tucks, and fun buttons….
Here are a couple other girly things I’ve sewed up recently…
Raglan Dress {yes the fabric is the same!}
