Skittles and Starburst are my two absolute favorite candies! When given the chance to show off a fun Halloween idea featuring these two I was pretty excited {and of course my kids were too with the promise of eating some!} We decided to make some fun Candy Halloween Cards to give out to the boys’ teachers. The boys also wanted to attach a little candy goodie bag to the card. This is what we came up with…
I picked up a huge Skittles & Starburst 30 Pack from Sam’s Club for this project and it worked perfectly. Enough candy for the project AND for the goodie bags. I love the multi-pack with my two favorites in one box!
We were all pretty excited to got down to business.
I took some card stock and sketched out a few simple outline shapes. The ghost and the pumpkin are the most festive, but I liked the leaf too. Do you have other shape ideas?
We put glue in the center of the shape and I set my boys to filling the outlines.
It was fun watching them get so into it.
and there was some eating…
The ghost ended up with two different color eyes! {I gave the creative freedom to the kids!}
This is also a GREAT color sorting activity as they had to pick out the colors they needed.
While the boys finished up and the gobs of glue were drying, we filled some green bags with more candy. We used up the yellow ones leftover from the candy Halloween cards and added more Skittles and the Starburst.
When the glue was dry I punched a hole in the corner of the card, added a border to each one, then tied on the bag of candy.
I think the pumpkin is my favorite.
Ok candy lovers… did you know these candyies have thier own YouTube channels??? WHAT? Check out Skittles and Starburst on YouTube. Candy videos… yes please!
