Looking for easy end of year teacher gifts? Add this easy fabric gift tag to any small gift for a special handmade touch.
I was given a bundle of Udderly Smooth lotion at a blog conference I went to and stuck them in the cupboard. While cleaning out to move {did you hear? you can find out more here} I found these lotions and decided to make some cute and easy end of year teacher gifts with them. I like to add a bit some handmade flavor to the gift, so I created these cute fabri gift tags and today I’ll share the free template with you.
Super cute right? I used the cute phrase “thanks for udderly the best year” becuase of the lotion, but you could use another phrase depending on what item you are gifting with these fabric tags.
Here are some other ideas for tags uses embroidery or for Christmas…
okay! Grab some fabric scraps, interfacing and download the template HERE. Cut your fabric in a rectangle just a bit larger than the template. Iron some med weight fusiable interfacing to the back of each piece.
Use the template to cut one full tag and one tag with a window. You also need a bit of white/cream fabric for your text.
Use a craft vinyl cutter – like a Silhouette or Cricut – use that to cut some heat transfer vinyl with whatever text you want. If you don’t have one of these, you can also just hand letter text on the fabric with a fabric marker or Sharpie. When you do use a cutting machine, make sure to mirror your letters before you cut!
Iron the words onto the center of the white/cream fabric.
Place the full tag piece right side down, then place the fabric with text right side up. Add the window piece of tag right side up and pin. Center the text in the window.
Sew around the inside and outside edges of the tag. I used a zig-zag stitch and it looks like this.
Add a button hole or metal grommet eyelet to add a hole to the tag.
I like the look of the eyelet! But a button hole would work too.
Have your kids add a personal touch to the end of year teacher gifts by signing their name, or just leave as is.
There you go! An idea for an easy end of year teacher gift with a handmade touch! I can’t actually believe the school year is winding down, but we have our gifts ready to go!
