Hi friends! I’ve got another free pattern for you today! This flowing dress free pattern is about a size 2/3T and sews up pretty quick. It’s still a bit big on my little one, but I want it to fit all winter. Better big that too small! This dress is sewn from woven fabric and has cute gathered shoulders. The back has a button/snap placket for easy over head dressing.
I’m not sure what’s going on in this photo, but it sure is cute! I said smile, and this was the pose I got, ha!
This little one is almost 2, but is still wearing mostly 18m clothing. You can see that the shoulders and sleeves are a bit big on her, but I’m hoping she can wear it for awhile.
I used rust colored buttons on the back to add a bit of color. Rose loves playing in this fountain.. I’m always worried she might fall in!
Close up of the shoulder detail, very sweet.
Okay, let’s sew!! You can get the free pattern HERE on Craftsy.
Needs:
3/4 yard woven fabric
2 buttons/snaps
12 inches 1/4” elastic
Print and tape the pattern together. Make sure to print at 100%. Cut out the pattern pieces, then cut out from fabric. This dress is 17″ from shoulder to hem, so add length if needed.
Gather the front shoulders to match the guide on the pattern piece.
Then sew the shoulder seams together right sides together.
On the back of the dress add a placket for the buttons or snaps. You have cut a 6 x 6″ placket, use THIS TUTORIAL to add it to the back of this dress.
Prepare the neck casing by finishing the outer edge with a serger or zig-zag. Also press the ends 1/4″ over towards wrong side of facing.
Pin around neckline. Line up the pressed edge with placket edge. Right sides together.
Pin and sew around the entire neck opening.
Turn the facing in to the dress and press.
Top – Stitch around neckline 1/2″ from the edge.
Open up the shoulder and match the center of the sleeve with the shoulder seam. Pin on both sides and sew in sleeve. Repeat on other side.
On ends of sleeve press 1/4″ SA, then 1/2″ SA, this will be the elastic casing later.
Open up the pressed edge and put edges of sleeve together. Sew down the sleeve and down sides of dress.
Refold elastic casing on sleeve edge. Cut 2 pieces of 6″ elastic.
Sew around 3/4″ from edge, leave an opening to thread elastic.
Insert elastic, pull through, sew ends together and close opening on sleeve.
fold 1/4″ then another 1/4″ on hem. Sew.
Add buttons or snaps to back placket as desired.
All finished!!
Again, You can get the free pattern HERE on Craftsy. Please let me know if you have any questions while sewing! Happy Flowing Dress Free Pattern day!

Bet I know the origin of your company name. I have two boys (now 45, 46 ) and they were good nappers. I would sew like
