I’ve got a little St. Patricks Day craft for you today. This is a fun one because your kids can give a few of these out as gifts AND wear green all day with this cute backpack charm. My boys are always wanting to give something to their friends so we whipped up Perler bead lucky charms and a cute LUCKY to be your friend printable.
Cute right? Want to make a few? All you need are Perler beads and a printer. You can get the free LUCKY to be your friend printable HERE. It prints at 2×4″ and is a perfect little tag for your charm.
I made the shamrock charms with Perlear beads on a board, and I didn’t have a pattern. Each one is slightly different and I like how they turned out. BUT, if I had a shamrock cookie cutter I would have used this easy method to make the charm… You can see the video tutorial for that here. Once you have your charm, thread a ribbon through one of the holes. I had to use a needle to pull it through.
Cute washi tape makes for a great way to attach to the back of your card. Leave the ribbon untied, so it can easily to attached to your friends backpack.
Be sure to fill in the TO and FROM lines.
Pass out to your friends and let your friends know just how LUCKY you both are to have such a great friend.
We used these as zipper pull charms, but I’m sure there are several ways to display your little shamrocks… Again you can get the LUCKY to be your friend printable HERE.
