It’s no secret that I love photobooks. I’ve tried many companies over the years and I’ve had many good experiences. I like a good balance of fast, easy to use features AND cute options. As my son wrapped up his two years at his preschool {which our school calls Kindergarten, really 3k and 4K} I wanted to make him a cute year book to remember his first two years of school. I tried a new-to-me photo book site called Mixbook. Here’s what I made…
We are so fortunate that my son’s teacher posted photos of their class each week of school. I would go through and download the photos of my son, with the intention of making a year book at the end. I had hundreds of photos at the end of the two years and made this super awesome photo book as a end-of-year gift to him.
Mixbook proved to be a great combination of function and features. The final print came out very clear and he and I are thrilled with the result. I thought I would show you how easy it was to make this book. I designed the whole thing in an evening with the simple Mixbook design features. Since I had my photos all in one folder already I used the auto-fill feature, which saved me a ton of time. There are TONS of premade book templates on the site and it’s easy to customize the one you want. Here are a few photo book options from the site. I chose the colorful chalkboard yearbook book.
Once I chose my book I went through the page layouts to add a few cute stickers {they have stickers that go with each book theme}. You can also change up how many photos are on each page, text boxes, pretty much anything, or you can leave as is.
I wasn’t making the book for the whole class, so on pages like this, I would just click and drag a new photo layout to the page, easily making it usable for my needs.
I’m really glad I took the time to add a few graphics, they look great in the finished book.
This was such a special gift for my son and and one he will enjoy looking at for years to come. So many memories for him from his first two years of school. So glad he has a great foundation for next year, and a LOVE of learning. Mixbook has photo books for EVERY occasion, I’ll be using their service again soon!

I make end of year books for our family, but one for each school year sounds fun for the kids!

This is a very sweet way to capture memories of preschool. You could even take pictures of projects and papers they worked on and remember it through this book in case the actual papers don’t make it over the years.

This is totally darling. I was the worst mom ever and probably should have ordered yearbooks for my kids, but forgot. This might just make up for it.

This is a really cool idea. I plan on doing homeschooling for preschool with my daughter and I will make one of these with all her milestones.

What a wonderful keepsake! Who says preschoolers can’t have yearbooks too? 🙂 I take lots of photos of my kids throughout each homeschool year, and this would be a great way to store all those memories. Thanks so much for sharing with #FamilyJoy Blog Linky Party!

When I was a Kindergarten teacher, I used to make year end photo book with pictures of each child throughout the year. I think parents wanted their kids in my class for that reason alone…LOL! This is such a great idea and your son will treasure this book! Thanks so much for joining us at Share The Wealth Sunday!

The year book looks very cool. It gives me an inspiration to make one for my children. It will be an evergreen memory for them when they are growing up. I wish I live in the US so I can get it printed and bound. This is a really cool stuff to do at the end of the school year. Thank you very much for sharing at Family Fun Friday.
