So…I have a three year old now! His birthday was this past Sunday. Can hardly believe it… Anyway, he’s really into talking about numbers, but has no idea what he’s talking about. (like he will see a number and say, “that’s a number…It’s my name.”) A little confused about numbers and letters and what they mean. I thought I would start with a simple number game and see what happens.
Here’s what I came up with.
I’ve made one without his name if YOU want to print it out.
You can find this on Google Documents HERE
Then I printed out this page with numbered items and just cut out the squares to make cards to match on the numbers.
You can find the printable version of this page HERE
For older kids (or more advanced than my son) I made this set of cards as well.
You can print from Google Docs HERE
I put magnets on the back of the full page and each card so we can hang it on the wall by the table. Here’s what the finished product looks like.

Thanks for this. Can I suggest always using only lowercase letters when making things like this? I have a class of students and for some of them it’s hard to remember to use lowercase letters most of the time. It’s much easier to learn uppercase letters later when you learn why you need them!

that is a great suggestion!! I actually created this before my son was school age. I didn’t know what I was doing! Now that he is five and trying to learn all these things I know how hard lower case can be! I should update this. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!
