Favorite Ice Cream flavor???? GO!!!

I love cookie dough! And I don’t know why I’ve never made it before…. So, So easy, and seriously SO tasty!! We made homemade cookie dough ice cream at my in-laws a few weeks ago when the whole family was in town. I can honestly say it was a huge hit and I wish I had made a double {or triple!} batch of the cookie dough. Those chunks of dough sitting there on the ice cream… I’m still drooling just thinking about it, even weeks later!

My boys thought this homemade cookie dough ice cream was pretty fabulous too! Ice cream face!

The trick is getting a GOOD tasting dough without any eggs…. I made several changes to this recipe and here is my version.

Homemade Cookie Dough Ice Cream

Ingredients

• serves 4
• 1/2 c. flour
• 2 TBS Brown sugar
• 3 TBS White sugar
• 2 TBS butter
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 2 TBS milk
• 1/2-3/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Cream butter and sugars in small bowl.
2. Add vanilla and milk, then flour and chips.
3. Mix well, add a bit more flour if needed. Roll into a log shape.
4. Wrap and freeze at least 1 hr. or overnight.
5. Remove from freezer and chop log into small bits.
6. Add you your favorite homemade or store bought vanilla ice cream.
7. Serve and enjoy!

I loved working in my in-laws kitchen since it’s bigger than mine {ha!}

I just rolled the dough into rough logs, then wrapped all three up in a single piece of wrap… You can get creative with this part of the process, or just keep it simple like I did! Freeze, chop, then add to ice cream!

Did you notice I made my kids eat their ice cream outside? {ha!} Boys are SO messy! Becuase I’m a mom of boys I always {not kidding!} have wipes on hand. I got this handy Wet-Nap canister at Walmart and we’ve been using it like crazy all summer. SO many messes… Including this ice cream evening!
